Best Toonie Store Ever
So after work/daycare yesterday, I decided to head to the best toonie store ever. Daiso at Aberdeen Centre in Richmond, located on the corner of Hazelbridge Way and Cambie Road. It’s a huge two-level store that carries absolutely everything, from kitchenware, garden supplies, pet stuff, stationary, toys, cosmetics, cleaning supplies, tupperware….everything! And it’s all one base-price…$2.00. I wanted to check out some cheap stuff I may need for the new place. I got a couple of bowls, some cleaning supplies, a compartment holder for Myk’s hair supplies, fake lashes & glue (for Myk). You have to be careful because there’s so much stuff to choose from that before you know it, you’re spending more than you anticipated.
Aberdeen Mall is such a Honger mall. I mean, the only real reason I would go there is to eat at some of their fabulous dim-sum places, go to Daiso, or get some vegetables (there’s a market on the bottom level…there’s 3 floors). I’m not even that impressed by their Food Fair. And the numerous clothing stores there are completely useless to me. Because in Honger standards, I’m considered “fat”.
Not my style either, but the thing is…the sizing is like as if I were shopping in the children’s section. But…I’ve really warmed up to this mall. They’ve always got a great water-dance show in their fountain. Usually to Elvis music. My kids love it. And they always seem to have these awesome events planned there. Last time they had a huge Dinosaur Exhibit for about a month or so. The next big event is obviously for Chinese New Year. Last year they had a draw at midnight for a new car.
Anyway, looks like they’ve started some of the decorations:
Wow, they make these tacky blow-up versions of everything nowadays:
